Margarette S. Miller was the cousin of trumpeter Phyllis Widener, who played in Freddie Shaffer's Victory Sweetheart's All-Girl Band, which played for military bases and hospitals as part of the United Service Organization's camp shows during World War II. This scrapbook includes postcards, photographs, correspondence, newspapers advertisements and other memorabilia.

Margaret Catherine Moore (1913-1975) was a Woman's College alumna, nurse and nurse educator after whom the UNCG School of Nursing building is named. The Margaret Catherine Moore Papers date from 1913 to 1982 and contain biographical material, diplomas and degrees, a high school annual, photographs, Moore's thesis from New York University, and World War II materials.

The collection includes two letter booklets written by Mullan while in basic training at Northampton, Massachusetts in September 1944.

Though the majority of correspondence is personal in nature it presents insights into many different aspects of the military, including the urgent need for infantry, the relationship between officers and enlisted soldiers, life as a soldier, and Nabors's experiences as a female serving in the military.

This collection consists of fifteen letters written by Peck to her family beginning a few days after her arrival in London, England, on 31 October 1941. The letters are addressed to "Poppy", which may be her father, and "Ros", which may be a nickname for her younger sister Rosamond, as well as her family. All fifteen letters describe the people and everyday life in London before she was commissioned by the Army, and discuss any news from the war and her family.
